In today’s episode, I am going to teach you how to become the person you want to be.
If there is a gap between where you are now and where you want to be, you are not alone! And you must congratulate yourself for even recognizing the opportunity to improve.
The Most Common Struggles For New Entrepreneurs
One of the membership questions I ask when you submit your request to join our community is:
‘What are you currently struggling with the most on your business journey?’
I take note of all of these answers, I compile them into a spreadsheet. And what I notice, and it’s really interesting, and this is the reason for today’s episode, is there is always a gap between who the entrepreneurs are as they join the group and who they want to be.
Maybe you are experiencing the same. Maybe you started your online business, but you want to make more money.
You want to hit five figure months, six figure months. Maybe you didn’t start your business and you are looking for answers. You’re looking for clarity.
Some examples of what members are going through. Some struggle with putting myself out there, being consistent, overthinking things. Another member replied, I don’t know where to start. Another said, I am struggling with letting people know what I do and showing up online.
I am struggling with getting paid clients without being or feeling spammy. Others just don’t know where to begin, right? So when I ask for struggles, every single person has a struggle.
There is always a disconnect between where people are versus where they want to be. And this is why they seek community.
They seek others who understand exactly what they’re going through, but ultimately recognize that no matter what level you are at, there’s going to be a new set of problems that you’re gonna have to work through as an entrepreneur.
Start Acting Like The Better Version of Yourself
And I’m gonna let you in on a little secret. No matter where you are, if you want to be the person, you want to be, the business owner, the partner, the friend that you want to be, you need to start doing the actions that your next level would do in order to get there.
So there’s this common misconception that the actions follow the result, when in reality, your actions dictate and cause the result.
Without doing those actions, you’re not going to get there.
For example, in business, you can say to yourself, “I will invest in a coach once I hit X amount of dollars per month.”
“I will invest in a team, I will invest in this program, I will invest in this or that and change my actions, once I hit five figures a month.”
This is basically like saying, let’s compare this to fitness. This is basically saying, “I’ll change my actions. I will start running, I’ll start dieting, I’ll start investing in a gym membership once I lose weight.”
When in reality, it’s about embodying that lifestyle and embodying your next level that’s going to get you the results that you want.
You’re basically identifying with this lesser version of yourself, and you’re holding onto that identity when you could be embodying the next level so that the results are inevitable.
Does this make sense?
Because you are embodying this lower level, it causes you to not take action externally, the ones that would result in the next level results.
Let’s bring it back to business investing in advertising seeking support, all of these things your next level would probably be doing.
And if you are struggling and striving to reach that next level, but you haven’t reached it yet, you don’t know how to get there, then maybe you are not ready.
You have to become the person who is capable of running a six figure business, a seven figure business first before experiencing those results. They have different actions, they have different mindsets, they have different ways of thinking.
Successful Vs. Unsuccessful
What I tell my clients when they are going through a launch is to focus on the launch for an entire month at least, and to show up for it consistently for at least a month.
And the only difference between successful launches and failed launches is whether or not the person backs out of their own launch.
Usually with the thoughts after the first few days, no one is buying, no one’s signing up. This is a failure and calling it quits before giving it their all.
The only difference between successful launches and failed launches are the actions. And so what I say and what my most successful clients embody since the first day of their launch is to launch as if your program is already full.
The most successful business owners, they fill up their programs within the first few days of launching. And so in their minds, they’re like, of course this program is going to fill up.
Of course, I’m going to invest in support coaches in advertising, in marketing, because I know everyone wants to join. And I’m going to go through with the Marketing plan.
If you’re not coming from that space of certainty, from that space of experience, you’re probably going to doubt yourself more than the average individual.
And if you don’t have the solid mindset, the support, the coaching to get you through that month, you’re probably going to talk yourself out of it before you see the end goal, before you see the results.
So show up for your business as if you already have that next level business you want. Show up for your clients with that extra level of support that you envision the next level business owner to give them.
Show up for yourself and your partner and your community in the way you want to in the next level.
And it’s really funny because I also have membership questions for those of you who are in The Wanderlover Business Academy.
So for those of you who recognize there is a gap between where you are versus where you wanna be, maybe you don’t have the business idea, maybe you don’t have the roadmap in front of you, but those who are invested into the academy, they took action.
In the Wanderlover Business Academy group, it’s questions about designing a website, showing up online, how to create email funnels, how to sell, how to market.
The conversations are so different when you reach that next step. And those in the academy have started their business, they’re growing their business, and they’re taking actions completely.
Getting rid of that old identity of, I don’t know where to start. I don’t know where to begin.
So if I were to summarize this concept into one sentence, it’s that the only difference between entrepreneurs or people who reach their goals, reach their next level versus people who don’t, are the actions they choose to take.
The actions coming from either a successful entrepreneur or the actions coming from a scarcity based, fearful entrepreneur.
Steps To Become A Better Version Of Yourself
So if you are ever experiencing a gap or a disconnect, I have three steps for you to actually be excited to try something new, to step into learning something new so that you can start acting as a different person.
1. Clear Goals
The first step is to define your thoughts and your goals as clear as possible. Let them excite you and get rid of a timeline.
Don’t put the pressure on yourself that it has to happen within a certain amount of time or else you’re a failure, because that’s just setting you up for an all or nothing mentality. Give yourself guidelines, but most importantly, feel what it would feel like to be in that next level position.
Let these feelings excite you and know, internalize them that they are coming to you. Know that it is already done, and do not put the stress or the pressure or the anxiety on yourself to have it happen.
2. Find Your Community
Now, once you do that, find your community of people who align with your energy and who are going in the same direction that you’re going in.
Join the Business Academy where you’re going to be surrounded by other people who are just as motivated to embody that lifestyle of entrepreneurship and travel and freedom.
3. Fully Embody Your Goals
And now the third and last most important step is to act as if, act as if you are a six figure business owner, a seven figure business owner.
How would they invest? How would they live? How would they think? Who would they hang out with? Do that every time you gravitate back to your comfort zone and default to the actions that keep you safe.
Think about what you would be doing on a day-to-day basis, how you would be showing up, how you would be launching and selling if you were already there, if you were already filling up all of your group programs with ease, how would you be showing up? How would you be marketing?
Think about all of these things and then take action. Those are the actions that’s going to make your success inevitable. It’s gonna be scary because you’re like, will this work?
But once you learn how to silence those fears and push on regardless, that’s where you’re going to be able to reap what you sow.
