Celebrating 200 Members Inside the Digital Nomad Society

We just hit another milestone and this episode calls for celebration! I pull back the curtains on how we created the membership and the takeaways I learned from launching the Digital Nomad Society in September. If you’re thinking about launching a new offer, or recently just launched one, this one is for you!

On this weeks podcast I’m being very honest and breaking down both the business and my mindset process towards creating my latest income stream – the Digital Nomad Society!

Hi everyone. Hello from Miami Beach, Florida. This is my annual trip to Miami to do some Christmas markets for Anda my jewellery brand, to visit my best friend (and business partner) who lives here and to escape the cold New York winters.

If feels so nice to be back in the sunshine, back by the water again. The energy is just so different and it’s truly what I needed. Like I love being in New York and I’m going back, but it’s always nice to take a break, right? And this is the beauty of a freedom-based business and a freedom-based lifestyle. I get to go wherever for however long because I want to. I have a really good sense by now at 30 years old knowing what I like, what climates I like, and if I want to go somewhere, I will go and I have a business that allows me to do so.

Celebrating 200 Members in DNS!

And speaking of business, today’s episode is going to be pulling back the curtains on my newest membership, the Digital Nomad Society (DNS).

So as some of you may know, we launched my first ever membership in September, and as of last week, we hit 200 Members inside the Digital Nomad Society. So this calls for celebration because I still remember all of the self-doubt and the fear that I experienced before launching it because I didn’t know how this business model would work out how much time was required if people would steal my content, if they would sign up and then cancel, you know, like all of these fears to the point where I almost thought about not creating it. But I’m so happy I did. And in this episode, I want to share what I’ve learned through the whole process and share how it’s evolved over the past three months and how it’s going to evolve because it’s still a very new offer in the Wanderlover product and service suite (check out the episode where I break down all my income streams here). So we’re constantly asking for feedback and making improvements, but overall, I am just so overjoyed because I could not have predicted such a successful membership, and I’m just really excited for what’s to come in 2024.

What Is The Digital Nomad Society?

So for those of you who don’t know, the Digital Nomad Society is a $7 a month membership for new and Aspiring Nomads. It comes with different modules to help members go from completely oblivious to how they can become a Digital Nomad, work from anywhere to becoming really confident that they have the tools in making this lifestyle happen for themselves. If they want to, they can learn and kind of test out by meeting other people like, ‘Hey, do I want this for myself?’

And learn through the trainings, all of the logistics, the implications, taxes, things that might not have come into their frame of reference. And through this membership, they have the ability to change their mindset and change their lives. The reason I created this was based on demand. I realized there was a gap in the market because there are so many business coaches, right? There are so many content creators and a lot of people creating content about traveling full-time, okay, me. And so I was getting a lot of questions, how do you make this a reality? And those people simply couldn’t afford my coaching packages at the time. And so I recognized this gap and I, I wanted something that was low ticket in my business suite that would give all of these people the foundations they needed, the mindset work, the training, the action steps so that they can start seeing momentum and start seeing results, and then having the confidence in themselves to invest into their own business and work with me through the academy and private coaching programs, who you hang out with is who you become.

And it was just so obvious after the past few years that so many members who just find my page and find my story, and they are so inspired by it. So many people just don’t have the community that supports them in this big crazy vision they have for themselves and their lives. Like I remember when I was working in finance, I would tell people I wanted to travel full-time and be an entrepreneur. And some people were outright like laughing at me. They just didn’t see the vision I had for my life, and I didn’t know where to find those people that would support me. I knew they were out there, right? Like I saw people coworking in Bali.

So I knew there were people like that out there, but I didn’t have my own community. And if I had found something like the Digital Nomad Society when I was surrounded by so much negativity and fear-based thinking, I probably would’ve gotten to where I am faster. Because that’s just how it all works. You get to find shortcuts and you get to find people and work off of that momentum.

What’s In The Digital Nomad Society

And so the three pillars of the Digital Nomad Society, we go through coaching. I am a business coach and have a lot of insights from my clients. I am very experienced with personal branding and online marketing, especially social media. And I know that I can help you build your online brand and make money online.

We have the coaching aspect, we have the community aspect, and we have the content. I’m constantly posting about all of the new places I’m going to. We have members talking about where in the world they are. And the content is what makes us so interactive and special because I know the online space, it’s constantly changing, right? So I’m going to continue producing content that changes with the times and that engages the community. I’m not just going to create this membership and you know, let you all try to figure it out on your own. It is very hands-on. And because of this, what it’s grown to today, we are just a few members over 200.

So we hit our 200 member milestone and we have so many member wins already. We have members who moved to Hawaii, who booked one-Way flights, who have launched their offers planned travels. Like we’ve had two live coaching calls every single month since September. And I’ve literally gone on Google flights and different travel websites and found flights for our members. I’ve shown them how to budget travel, I’ve shown them how to luxury travel. And it’s just such an empowering, beautiful conversation always about travel and growth and all things freedom based.

I know we’ve had so many amazing collaborations within the group, so many new connections. We have monthly follow threads where people interact with each other and get to know other aspiring nomads and online entrepreneurs. And so honestly, this community that I’ve brought together, it’s still in its beginning stages, but I’m just really excited to see what the next few years will bring.

Introducing Subscription Based Income Into My Business

In this next part of the episode, I want to share how this fits exactly into my business. So like I said before, the Digital Nomad Society is a low ticket monthly membership (find out more about the courses and the breakdown of the membership here). And strategically, the reason I introduced this is because I wanted to have more monthly recurring revenue. This is revenue that is already secured at the beginning of the month because it is a subscription payment. It’s not a one-time payment, right? It’s monthly recurring. And since September, so in September, October, November, December, in less than four months, we have introduced over $4,000 in monthly recurring revenue since the launch of the Digital Nomad Society.

This has worked so well because we listened to demand, we listened to people who wanted to really get started, but they didn’t want to commit to the academy. And because of this low ticket entry point, I was able to convert more people into the Business Academy because as they go through the Digital Nomad Society and commit that this is the lifestyle they want, they want to learn the tech, they want to learn the marketing, the email list, the website, the Facebook Ads, and that is what we teach in the Wanderlover Business Academy. So these two programs go hand in hand. If, you would like to join us in the Business Academy Doors are currently closed, but you can get on the wait list and I will link it in the episode description so you can be the first to know when doors are open again.

Learning As You Create

And so as you can see, my business didn’t start off with a low ticket monthly membership, right? It’s just an additional income stream that I have built in September. And I think this is really important to keep in mind. if you are just starting your business or in the first few years of business, you’re never relying on one product or one service to be the end all be all for your business. Even if you are a va, a web designer, a coach, you can constantly be expanding. It doesn’t have to be just one-on-ones or just retreats or just courses. And once you learn how to kind of optimize your offers and have something for everyone, you’re going to see that in three years time and five years time, it’s all going to make sense.

And you’re going to have one offer that drives traffic into a higher ticket offer and then maybe to one-on-one coaching, right? So it’s like this beautiful funnel and not just a one-time deal. Let me launch this, get clients, and then I’m done. The other takeaway that I noticed from my own personal experience, and maybe you can relate to this too, is having realistic expectations and adapting them as your business grows. So I personally had no idea what to expect after the launch of Digital Nomad Society in September. And I had written down that I wanted a thousand members by the end of the year, after getting maybe like a hundred members in the first less than two months, I realized, okay, realistically like a, I don’t know what it takes to get a thousand members in three months.

I simply haven’t learned that yet. I’m still trying to figure it out and I am going to figure it out. It’s going to get to a thousand members eventually, but I simply don’t have the knowledge yet. And I haven’t built the foundations to achieve that. And so what I’ve come to accept and what I’ve become really good at accepting is you set milestones and goals for yourself, but not to get discouraged when they don’t happen according to your timeline. Sometimes you simply don’t have the knowledge or the experience to achieve that, right?

I’m sure there are many, many creators out there who can launch a membership and fill it up a thousand people in a week or in a month. I’m not at that level yet. People aren’t familiar with the Digital Nomad Society yet. I don’t maybe have the marketing, but I’m not going to be upset, and I’m not gonna think it’s a failure if I don’t hit my initial goal because it was kind of made out of thin air. Like how is I supposed to know how much work it would take to fill up a membership with a thousand members? But what’s important is that I’m Celebrating the wins. I’m Celebrating 200 Members inside the Digital Nomad Society

I feel like so many times when we set these arbitrary launch goals for ourselves with these arbitrary numbers, for the first time we’re launching a new product or service. Like let’s say you are launching your first ever one-on-one service, and you tell yourself, I want to get 10 clients by the end of the year, and you don’t hit that number, but you get two.

So often we’re looking at the eight clients. We didn’t get like I could so easily be looking at the 800 members I didn’t get right. But I’m not going to do that because I know that with patience, with working on my business, working on myself, giving value to my audience, planting the seeds, helping out every single member, I know that I’m gonna get there and I’m not going to give up.

New Resources In The Membership

So this month in December, we have new resources. So we have new resources, live trainings, new templates in the Digital Nomad Society every month and in December, we have our ultimate Business plan and social media planner. And these two offers were birthed from demand as well, because so many of our members were like, ‘I don’t know what businesses start’, ‘I don’t know how to get all of my thoughts organized’ and ‘I don’t know how to manage my social media’. I don’t know how to track my metrics, like how do I know what’s working? And so we created these two completely free. If you join the Digital Nomad Society for $7 a month, you can access everything immediately, and you also get instant access to our free members only Facebook group that I am in every day answering questions and also providing feedback. Obviously Celebrating, every single win. We literally have members from every single continent except Antarctica. And I’m just really excited to see what this grows into. So cheers to the next 200 members. Have a fantastic week.
