Why You’re Feeling Stuck (And What To Do About It)
If you’ve been feeling stuck lately… like you know what you want, you can almost see the life and business you’re trying to build, but for some reason you just can’t seem to move… I want you to know you’re not alone in that.
If you’re new here, I’m Danielle. I help creators, aspiring entrepreneurs, and women who want more out of life build freedom-based online businesses so they can work from anywhere in the world.
And what I’ve noticed, both from my own journey and from working with so many students, is that being stuck is one of the most frustrating places to be. Because everything is almost there. You have the ideas, you have the vision, you might even have a plan. And yet something keeps getting in the way of you actually moving forward and getting in the way of where you want to be.
So I want to walk you through what’s really going on here. Because once you understand why you feel stuck, you can finally start shifting out of it.
Stop Comparing Your Beginning to Someone Else’s Success
The first reason you feel stuck is comparison.
And I know this sounds simple, but I want you to really sit with this. You’re scrolling Instagram, watching someone else launch their program, hit their income goals, travel to the places you want to go… and instead of feeling inspired, you feel behind.
Like you should be further along. Like you missed something. Like something is wrong with you because you’re not there yet.
And then this is where it’s like a domino effect because your frequency is lowered. You start doubting yourself and feeling frustrated. So it’s like a self fulfilling prophecy. Comparison is the thief of joy.
What’s actually happening here is that you’re not seeing the full picture. You’re seeing someone’s highlight reel and comparing it to your behind-the-scenes. You’re not seeing their failed launches, their self-doubt, or the version of them that was sitting exactly where you are right now.
Stop comparing yourself to other people, especially if you’re comparing your chapter 1 to someone else’s chapter 20. The time you spend measuring yourself against them is time you’re not spending building your own thing.
Comparison doesn’t just make you feel bad. It actually keeps you stuck because it shifts your focus from “what can I do next?” to “why am I not as far as them?” and that question will never move you forward.
Overthinking Is Keeping You Stuck
The second reason is overthinking.
Not just a little bit… I mean full paralysis by analysis. You’re trying to figure out everything before you take the first step. Your niche, your long-term plan, your future offer, your entire business model. You might know way too much and think you have to do it all right now. And I get it. You want to do it right. You want clarity. You want certainty.
But what I’ve noticed is that you’re standing at the bottom of the staircase trying to map out every single step before you move. Focus on the step in front of you and make it your mission to complete it without any other distractions.
The Hidden Cost of Playing It Safe
The third reason is that you’re playing it safe. It feels like being realistic. It feels like protecting yourself. But from my experience, playing it safe is often fear keeping you from your full potential.
It looks like staying in the job that drains you because the paycheck is consistent or not posting because you’re not sure it’s good enough yet. It looks like not launching your offer because you don’t have every detail figured out.
Safety always comes with a cost.
You’re trading the life you want for the comfort of the life you already have. And at some point, that trade stops feeling worth it. Sometimes playing it safe is keeping you stuck because it just repeats your cycle.
Why Thinking Without Action Keeps You Stagnant
And the fourth reason… and I say this with so much love… is that you’re simply not doing enough.
Not because you’re lazy. But because you’re doing all the thinking, planning, researching, and preparing… and not enough of the actual doing. You’ve watched the videos. You’ve taken notes. But you haven’t posted consistently. You haven’t sent the message. You haven’t put your offer out there. You keep talking yourself out of things or quitting prematurely. And at some point, you have to be honest with yourself.
Information without action is just entertainment.
There comes a moment where you have to stop consuming and start creating. Stop preparing and start taking messy imperfect action consistently. Because that’s where the growth actually happens.
The Small Decision That Changed My Entire Life
There was a time when I was working in corporate finance. I had the stable job, the steady income, everything that looked good on paper. And I knew I had to change my life.
I remember sitting down one day and instead of focusing on why I was unhappy, I took inspired action and just made a list of everything that lit me up, that I was interested in, of things I could possibly start.
I could start a blog. I could freelance. I could post content. I could reach out to people. I could learn something new.
The list was long and most of it felt scary. But something shifted when I saw it all written down. It went from “I don’t know what to do” to “I have options, I just need to pick one.”
So I did.
I didn’t wait until I felt ready. I didn’t wait for the perfect plan. I just took the first step I could take that day. And then I did it again the next day. That’s how everything changed. Not one big leap… but a series of small, imperfect, sometimes uncomfortable steps.
The Only Thing You Need to Do Next
So if you take anything from this, I want it to be this.
You don’t need more clarity. You need more action.
I want you to sit down today and write out everything you could do. Not what you should do, not what makes the most sense… just everything. Then pick one thing. The smallest thing if you need to. The thing you can do in the next 24 hours.
And do that. Just one step. Because the clarity you’re waiting for comes because of action, not the other way around. Execution over ideation, always.
