I’ll be sharing all you need to know for your perfect view of the Manhattan Bridge in DUMBO New York!

Where is DUMBO?

DUMBO stands for “Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass” and is located along the East River waterfront in the borough of Brooklyn, New York City.

Brooklyn Bridge Park is to its north, the Brooklyn Bridge is to the west, Brooklyn Heights to the south, and Vinegar Hill is to the east.

Where is the DUMBO Manhattan Bridge View?

The DUMBO Manhattan Bridge View is located on Washington Street, in between Plymouth Street and Water Street in DUMBO Brooklyn, New York.

Here is the exact location of where to get the best photo.

How to Get to DUMBO Manhattan Bridge View

By Subway

Option 1: F Train (orange) to York Street. This is the closest stop to the DUMBO Manhattan Bridge View.

Option 2: A or C Trains (blue) to High Street-Brooklyn Bridge. Walk around 7 minutes to the DUMBO Manhattan Bridge View.

Once you leave either station, there will be signs pointing you to the viewpoint, and you’ll start seeing cobblestone streets.

By Taxi

You can also take a taxi or Uber/Lyft directly to “Dumbo – Manhattan Bridge View“. If you’re coming from Manhattan, you’ll get beautiful views as you come across the Manhattan or Brooklyn Bridge.

By Walking

One of my favorite things to do is walk the Brooklyn Bridge over to DUMBO NYC. It offers panoramic views of the East River and New York City skyline.

View of Manhattan from Brooklyn Bridge

I often go early during sunrise and arrive in DUMBO early morning, which is the perfect time to explore without the crowds and grab a coffee.

Best Time to Visit the DUMBO Manhattan Bridge View

This street gets BUSY, so if you want a photo or video without people in it, you’ll have to get there early.

If you head over at sunrise, there will definitely be fewer crowds, so I recommend coming over earlier in the day.

The busiest times are during the day and on weekends, but it’s still worth exploring even when it’s crowded.

What is DUMBO like?

Historically, DUMBO was an industrial hub so it’s full of warehouses and factories.

Nowadays as neighborhoods close to Manhattan are being gentrified, you can find an abundance of coffee shops, loft spaces, and art galleries set among cobblestone streets.

Think: industrial-style artisanal coffee with a backdrop of the Manhattan bridge.

It’s known as one of the more touristy places in Brooklyn, so be prepared to find lots of crowds during the summer and weekends!

Best Things to Do In DUMBO

Explore Brooklyn Bridge Park

The Brooklyn Bridge Park is the iconic waterfront area where you can hang out and have picnics. Walk along the pristine waterfront where you can get the best views of Manhattan.

Brooklyn Flea Market

The best place to go shopping for antiques and jewelry! It’s Brooklyn’s largest flea market for vintage, design, antiques, collectibles, and food. Open every weekend.

Time Out Market

This market is right on the waterfront and serves food, drinks, and live music all day. It’s a restored warehouse and is the perfect place to eat and hang out.

Where to Stay in Brooklyn
