Start a Travel Blog
If you have followed my story since day one, you will know the Wanderlover started as a travel blog. I wrote stories and reviews of places and experiences from my travels with my 21 days off a year from my corporate finance career in New York. A travel blog allowed me to land my first collaborations with hotels, helped me see my first bit of income from ad revenue and ultimately helped me build the Wanderlover into what it is today.
My life would have been completely different if I hadn’t started my travel blog.
Swap the office chair for a surfboard and start sharing your experiences. You don’t even have to go jetting of to the most remote islands to get started, you could write about your own hometown or country, the best places to eat, must-see things and experiences that you have easy access to right away.
While it’s not an overnight task, starting a travel blog is an amazing long-term project that helps to enhance your brand, grows your audience and opens up tons of online money-making opportunities. Best of all, writing a travel blog is fun!

As an entrepreneur, you’ve probably heard all about the passive income dream. You know, it’s the one that says you can make money in your sleep. Well, I’m here to tell you that it’s not a dream at all! I make passive income everyday and with a bit of time and commitment, you can too!
One of the most effective ways to make a passive income online is to create an ebook. Ebooks are a great option if you have knowledge or expertise in a particular field. They can also be used to encourage newsletter sign-ups and attract new clients. Before embarking on a project like this, it’s important to understand your audience and find your niche. Affiliate Marketing
With this form of marketing, influencers, bloggers, brands and people earn commissions by promoting the products and services of other brands. The amount of commission you earn depends on the number of clicks and sales generated by your content and of course the affiliate deal value. There are thousands of professionals taking advantage of affiliate marketing, the Wanderlover included.
To get started with affiliate marketing, it helps to have an audience that you can reach. Whether this is via social media, website visitors, email lists it doesn’t matter. But you need to put your affiliate links in front of people and get them to complete the steps required for you to be paid your commissions.
For example, I earn a small commission every time someone signs up for BlueHost using my link. I started my blog with BlueHost and believe they offer a great web hosting service, so I am comfortable promoting them to my audience. In return when someone decides that this is right for them, and they have been inspired by what have to say, make a purchase, I am rewarded with a commission. Obviously, the more people that read my blog, the more people that click my links, the more I can potentially earn.
It’s really important here to remember a few things. YOU MUST stand behind the products or services you are promoting. Spamming your friends and readers with links for sketchy products will get you nowhere good. Secondly, you don’t need a lot of followers, just an audience that you can engage with. 10% of 100 is the same as 1% of 1000.
Offer 1:1 sessions
If you’re an expert in your field, people probably want to hear from you. Alongside ebooks and online courses, one-to-one coaching is a great way to make money and connect with your audience. Perhaps you have valuable insights that will inspire others or enable them to achieve their goals.
Private coaching is an increasingly popular choice amongst fellow entrepreneurs. If it’s done right, coaching sessions can offer useful tips and advice tailored specifically to the client’s needs. With my private coaching service, I offer weekly 55 minute calls and a one-off 90-minute goal mapping strategy along with unlimited additional support calls and emails.
It’s also super handy if you can collect testimonials to display on your website. This will validate your service and secure even more sign-ups along the way.
Offer Group Programs
Another great service to have under your belt is a group program. Group programs are popular amongst creatives as it enables them to learn on the go, whilst connecting with like-minded people. While it doesn’t offer a passive income, online classes and workshops are a great way to build your reputation and spread the word all while doing something you enjoy!
Start a YouTube channel
Starting a YouTube channel all begins with an idea. If you’re a forward thinking content creator then you have what it takes to make videos on YouTube. As with any content, you’ll need to find a niche and produce footage that stands out from the crowd. Despite the time it takes, YouTube can be highly profitable. Once you achieve 1,000 subscribers, you can start making money from ads. Youtube shorts and videos are all great ways to connect with your audience and grow your reach.
Start a podcast
Did you know that the number of podcast listeners is estimated to reach half a billion by the end of 2024. With that in mind, it’s never been a better time to launch a podcast. Designed to share stories, opinions, comedy, news and more, podcasts are a great choice if you like a good chat.
When it’s time to monetize your podcast, there are plenty of opportunities including sponsorship deals, donations, tips and ads.
