8 Highly Effective Ways to Get More Clients OnlineĀ

Wherever you are on your entrepreneurship journey, you have probably been looking for ways to get more clients. Increasing your clientele is essential if you want to grow your business. And the best part? You can do it from anywhere in the world.

Of course, we know that itā€™s not as easy as it sounds. With so many digital platforms to keep on top of, marketing can be totally exhausting. Not only is social media super competitive, but it can also take a while to increase your visibility.

Beyond social media, you will also need to focus your attention on email marketing, digital advertisements, testimonials and more. While this sounds like a lot, do not fret. It is entirely manageable and will provide you with a ton of benefits in the long run.

To give you a head start, I have rounded up some of my top tips on how to get more clients online.

Use Instagram

With just over one billion Instagram users, Instagram offers tons of opportunities to find new clients. According to a 2019 study, 79% of global users searched for more information after seeing a product or service on Instagram. 46% of users also made a purchase. Now you know its power, letā€™s take a look at how we can use Instagram to your advantage.

Share offerings

Once you have set-up a business account, you can start sharing your insights via posts, stories and video reels. Show people what it is you have to offer by providing free tips and incentives in return for joining your mailing list. This is a sure way to grow your audience and build a relationship with potential clients.

Use an app like Linktree to make all of your most important links and calls to action available directly from your Instagram bio.

Post regularly

Posting regularly may seem like an easy task but itā€™s quite natural to lose enthusiasm, once your following begins to plateaux. We might start comparing ourselves to other influencers or doubting our own content. The important thing to remember is that posting regularly will increase your visibility and keep your current followers engaged.

While you donā€™t need to be posting everyday, you will need to stay consistent. Set yourself an achievable goal and stick to it. Reduce the stress by scheduling posts ahead of time with apps like Planoly.

Go live

By creating a more personal connection with your followers, you can quickly build and validate your reputation. Whether you are sharing tips, answering questions or something else entirely, going live enables you to really get to know your audience and communicate effectively.

Post reels

These 90 second videos offer a wide variety of unique editing tools from captions to music and everything in between. Fun and creative, they are a captivating way to reach your audience. Reels are also favored by the Instagram algorithm, which means that they are likely to offer more exposure than posts.

Post stories

Another powerful digital marketing tool in Instagram is stories. Use them to showcase significant highlights. Maybe itā€™s an exciting collaboration, an announcement, question or poll. Keep in mind that stories are only visible for 24 hours, which is why they need to stand out from the crowd. Those already proficient with stories, may also appreciate the Unfold tool which enables you to edit and enhance stories.

With so much competition out there, securing more clients on Instagram can feel pretty overwhelming. To make your life a little easier, I have put together an extensive ebook detailing how to grow your business on Instagram. Here, youā€™ll find loads of tips and expertise on developing your brand and increasing your visibility in a time effective manner.

Optimize Your Website for Search Engines

One of the most effective ways to get more clients online is by optimizing your website for search engines. This process, known as search engine optimization (SEO), involves making your website more visible and attractive to search engines like Google. By ranking higher in search results, youā€™ll get more traffic to your site, which can translate into more clients.

To optimize your website for search engines, youā€™ll need to conduct keyword research to identify the terms your potential clients are using to search for your services. Once youā€™ve identified your target keywords, you can use them in your websiteā€™s content, meta tags, and other on-page elements to signal to search engines that your website is relevant and valuable.

A great thing about SEO is that the result is essentially free traffic. Unlike running paid adds to your website, while you may pay someone to work on your SEO, the traffic you get as a result from that is organic and free. For my SEO I use Fern Colab who look after everything for me, from technical SEO to content strategies, and the results have been amazing, doubling my organic traffic in just a few months.

Create Compelling Content

Another way to attract more clients online and a big part of the SEO we just talked about, is by creating compelling content that engages and educates your audience. Whether youā€™re creating blog posts, YouTube videos, or social media updates, your content should be informative, entertaining, and helpful to your potential clients. By offering value upfront, youā€™ll establish yourself as an authority in your industry and build trust with your audience.

When creating content, focus on your target audienceā€™s pain points and challenges. By addressing their concerns and providing solutions, youā€™ll demonstrate your understanding of their needs and position your business as the go-to source for solutions.

Email marketingĀ

Sending out regular emails and newsletters will keep potential clients informed and enhance engagement. Email is a very powerful form of marketing because it provides direct communication with an audience who have already indicated an interest in your service. With free services to start with such as MailChimp, it can also be a low-cost marketing tool. We certainly canā€™t argue with that! I personally use Active Campaign to manage all my email marketing as many of the free services are often limited in email list size or functionality.

Build an email list

It sounds like a no brainer but before you start sending out communications, you will need to find a way to collect email addresses from your audience. For current clients, use forms to collect their details and ask if they would like to join your mailing list. Encourage email subscriptions amongst potential clients by adding a call to action on your website and social media accounts.

Send helpful and relevant info

Whatever you include in your emails, keep it relevant. Provide your subscribers with content thatā€™s both interesting and useful. Use it to promote your work but be sure to give your readers a reason to open the email in the first place.  Provide access to top tips, blogs, free gifts, discounts or ebooks to encourage readers to sign-up and interact with your services.

Facebook Groups

Depending on your audience and the platforms they use, Facebook can be a highly successful way to find new clients. Not only are Facebook groups free but they can also help you build your email list, respond directly to questions and network with like minded entrepreneurs. To start off, join 3-5 relevant Facebook groups and use the following tips to profile your work.

Show up regularly

The trick to using Facebook groups to your advantage is simple; the more active you are, the more connections you will build. Share tips and insight to encourage conversation and increase your visibility. Aim to post at least two to three times a week in each group if you can. The key is to focus on quality content so if you are struggling to produce enough high quality content, pace yourself while remaining consistent.

Build a community of people in your niche

As entrepreneurs, we canā€™t go it alone. We need an entire community of like minded professionals to share the journey with, and Facebook groups are a fantastic way to build that network. Appreciate others in the group by sharing, liking and commenting on their content. If there is something you are keen to learn, donā€™t be afraid to ask. Spark up a conversation and build valuable connections. You never know, it could also lead to collaboration!

Go live

Introduce yourself to the group with a live Q&A. Build conversations within your network to show potential clients what you are all about. Going live is a great way to build trust and showcase what you have to offer.

Digital advertising

Did you know that Facebook and Instagram offer fantastic advertisement opportunities? The two platforms work well together, allowing you to post the same content across both accounts. Creatives, entrepreneurs and businesses alike use Instagram and Facebook to run ad campaigns across both channels. Itā€™s a sure way to get more clients online and itā€™s fairly straightforward.

Paid ads

To get started, be sure to set-up business accounts for both platforms. It is completely free and takes just a few minutes. Next, create your content and set up your promotion by selecting a destination, budget, duration and audience. If youā€™re not sure what to do here, there is an automatic option to get started. Finally, publish your ad. You will then receive a notification once it has been approved. Paid ads can increase click-throughs, website conversions, views and more. They are a vital part of your entrepreneurial journey and can be extremely effective.

Press/Features

Getting good press and features can add a huge amount of credibility to your offerings or business. Not only that, backlinks gained from having your business links shared on other sites will help you climb google rankings and get more organic traffic. So itā€™s a bit of a win win.

Take for example my feature in Forbes. I get to share the Wanderlover name with a huge audience via a very well trusted website, which means people are more likely to engage with me as, if Forbes says itā€™s ok it must be ok right? Press and features can come in many forms, from guests posting to product success stories.

Get Testimonials

When you are looking for a product or service, chances are you will probably check out the reviews first. Testimonials are a go-to for any potential clients. They build confidence and trust in your work. If you have testimonials, use them. If you donā€™t, start asking your clients to review your service right away. Once you have collected them, place the testimonials on your home page or beside your call to action to encourage click-throughs.

Now that you know how to get more clients, itā€™s time to start using them! To do this successfully, you need to know your audience. Take some time to find out what platforms they use and what content they respond to. Once you know this, you can come up with an effective marketing plan that works directly for you.
