Traveling, Motherhood, and Business Freedom

I am recording this episode in Brazil, but I am preparing for a week away in Washington DC to attend one of my childhood friends’ weddings. And it’s going to be the first time I am away from baby Leven, which breaks my heart, but it’s going to be such an expansive fun time with all of my friends that I’ve grown up with. It’s times like these where I am just so grateful for being alive at this point in time where we are able to communicate to our loved ones from different continents. Like I know I’m still going to be able to FaceTime my husband and my baby and also be able to run my business seamlessly from anywhere in the world.

I am also such a firm believer that when you step into the motherhood chapter, you do not need to sacrifice what you love doing. You don’t have to stop solo traveling, you don’t have to stop surfing or having time for yourself. I truly believe you can have it all.

You can be a great mother, a great wife, super present, super supportive, and be pouring from a full cup. This abundance in every area of your life—it can be yours. Why Community Matters for Entrepreneurs

I just got off an incredible coaching call with the members of the Wanderlover Coaching Group. We had one member of the community who just wanted to tune into our live call. She hadn’t started her online business yet, but she had ideas. She is a mother and just didn’t know what the next step was going to be. Clearly something within her wanted expression and wanted to do something, which is why she joined. But we gave her so many ideas. We encouraged her, we supported her, and she left feeling so clear about her next steps, but also feeling so seen.

As an online entrepreneur, it can be hard to find your community. You are not walking into an office. You’re not just being placed in an environment where everyone around you, let’s say, in corporate, is on the same path. You need to find your community.

The Power of Surrounding Yourself with the Right People

When you are in my community, when you are in my space, I make sure everyone feels seen and heard, and everyone feels empowered to voice what they want with their lives, and then we reverse engineer it from there. What is so magical is we all get you, and you do not have to explain yourself to anyone. No one’s going to be questioning why you want to be making more money, why you want to be traveling more, why you want to be a bigger and better version of yourself.

I remember when I was working in corporate, the five people I surrounded myself with, they were all on this corporate path, right? And when I voiced that I wanted to quit my job and start my own business and all of these things, they were skeptical and it wasn’t from a place of ill intention. They just didn’t understand because they were on a different path.

And over time, every single time I wanted to achieve a new milestone—such as when I wanted to surf, I surrounded myself with surfers. When I wanted to scale my business, I surrounded myself in a mastermind or with a coach. And doing these things always got me to where I wanted to be.

Now my reality, like being able to fly to DC in the middle of the week and still have my own business running smoothly in the background, making multiple five-figure months, this was my dream and now it is my reality.

When I started surrounding myself with entrepreneurs, creatives, visionaries, who were building businesses around their passions, the energy rubbed off on me, but also the framework, the step-by-step path. I saw it so clearly because I was learning from people who were already doing it, who were already living that life, and I was like, if they can do it, then I can too.

Their wins showed me what was possible, and suddenly scaling my business, getting more sales, getting more clients, it didn’t feel farfetched. It didn’t feel like it was out of reach or impossible for me, it felt inevitable.
