Why I Quit My Corporate Job

Disclaimer: I don’t have a million dollars saved up in the bank, I’m not rich (yet!), I was not born with the voice of an angel that can make me an overnight celebrity singing sensation. What I do have is absolute confidence in my ability to learn and unwavering excitement for the future, and you can have it too!

Last day in corporate America!

To be completely honest, I was never excited to go to work and sit in my cubicle. After experiencing complete freedom when I traveled solo weeks on end, I hated being told I could only take vacation 15 days of the year (15 days.. really?!) Deep down, I knew if I could spend the entirety of my day working on something that was my own and learning, I could build amazing things that are my own.

Why I quit my corporate finance job to pursue my dream of becoming an online entrepreneur with passive income

The path was clear: if I didn’t quit, I would be climbing the corporate ladder for the rest of my life. I signed up for that when I accepted my offer, but it was time for me to leave. It wasn’t fair for the company to have an employee with this mentality!

Realistically, when you don’t like how something is in your life, you have the ability to change it. Voices inside your head will make excuses why you can’t, or why you’re stuck, and try their hardest to prevent change and uncertainty, even if your current situation is making you miserable. But there are always two choices: complain, or do something about it.

Having complete control over my day makes me unbelievably happy. I am meeting so many inspiring, like-minded individuals, and haven’t looked back since. And on top of all that, I am working harder than ever and loving every minute of it.

Congratulations on being brave enough to quit your job to follow your dreams. I just started freelancing and working for myself which is something that I have always wanted to do but never had the guts to do it. So when I get laid off, it was a blessing in disguise and my opportunity to go for it! But I don’t think I would have been able to quit just like that so kudos to you. Good luck, looking forward to seeing where it takes you 🙂

Yes I love this! It really takes the right mindset to quit full time to work for yourself, ultimately. The traditional way is to work your life away for only 2 weeks of vacation. But why? I never understood it and still don’t! Congrats to you for doing what feels right to you!

Found and followed you on Pinterest. We’re differing niches but gotta say… there are days when travel sounds better than finance. But you know that already hahaha 🙂
