Ocean Club West | Turks & Caicos

Our stay at Ocean Club West in Providenciales, Turks & Caicos (also known as TCI) was a dream. Ocean Club West, part of Ocean Club Resorts, is a beachfront resort right on Grace Bay Beach, crowned best beach in the world for numerous years. It was the perfect destination for a winter escape from New York City!

If you’re planning a vacation to Turks & Caicos, you MUST stay on Grace Bay Beach. Ocean Club West has the perfect location on the stretch of white sand, and incredible amenities. Upon checking in, we were greeted by the warmest reception and were driven to our room with a full kitchen, A/C, closets stocked with water activity equipment, and a giant balcony overlooking the clear blue water. I loved the interior decor, very warm and perfect for the beachfront.

Our stay could not have been more comfortable with the amenities provided by Ocean Club West. The property has a full gym, tennis courts, a beautiful pool, and numerous restaurants. Stand-up paddle boarding, kayaks, and bikes are also available free of charge to all hotel guests. Ocean Club West has an amazing pool right by the beach with umbrellas, chairs, fountains, swings, and hammocks.

There are also three restaurants run by Ocean Club Resorts: Solana (right next to the pool at Ocean Club West), Cabana Bar & Grill, and their fine dining establishment Opus. The food at all three restaurants were amazing, with a wide range of dishes that catered to any taste from sushi to island delicacies like jerk chicken. The staff were beyond friendly.

There are so many activities and sights to see on Turks & Caicos islands. The highlight of my trip was horseback riding with Provo Ponies in the Caribbean. I highly recommend them on your trip to TCI! I had no prior riding experience they teach you how to control your pony, and guide you to the beach.

We also went on a snorkel tour with Big Blue Unlimited where we swam with hundreds of fish at two snorkel spots. We stopped at a beautiful island with all white sand and shallow Caribbean blue water with no people in sight. Information for both can be found below.

Other Tips for TCI:

1. On Thursdays, the country’s tourism board hosts a Fish Fry, where food and craft vendors bring together delicious food, live music, and local crafts. Worth a visit, and only a short cab ride away from Ocean Club West.

2. USD is accepted everywhere, and most places accepted credit cards.

3. Tipping is customary, bring cash to tip!

4. Local delicacies are jerk chicken (TCI’s own spice rub), fried fish, and conch. You cannot go wrong with the seafood here!

I cannot wait for our next Turks & Caicos trip. There is so much more to see on the island and I don’t think I can ever get enough of the white sand and clear blue water. I will definitely be back!
